Supercell interview, for people who have shipped.
Updated · Sources at the end
Supercell is about 930 people making a handful of very large games, and it hires slowly and on purpose. Its careers page says every application is read by hand, roles stay open for as long as it takes to find the right person, and you will meet many people and be interviewed across several different teams. When a role needs you on site, Supercell pays for the travel and accommodation for the onsite interviews.
Candidates describe a recruiter call, then a home assignment, a portfolio review or an art test depending on the role, then interviews that dig into that work, then the onsite. A 2023 Blind post sums up the engineering side: no LeetCode questions, and a focus on senior people who have released a game, questioned deeply on the features they built. Supercell is also candid about the two things candidates complain about: the process can last longer than it would like, and its capacity to give detailed feedback is limited.

Who Supercell hires
Supercell had about 928 employees from more than 60 nationalities, around 290 million monthly players, and $3.01 billion in revenue in 2025, when it hired almost 300 people, its biggest year of growth. Its teams are small independent cells; to make six games, it says, it has killed more than a dozen. On 4 October 2026 it had about 32 openings: engine, client and tools programmers, live ops and game designers, artists, data roles and product and marketing leads, in Helsinki, London, Shanghai, Seoul and San Francisco. Nearly all were senior. People can work remotely from the countries with an office and from Denmark, Sweden, Germany and Spain if the team and role allow, and a Global Mobility team helps with relocation.
What is the Supercell interview process?
Supercell describes the principles, not the rounds: manual review, several teams, no deadlines, paid onsite travel. The order below comes from candidate reports on Glassdoor and Blind, which vary by role and are thin for engineers since 2023.
Supercell reads every application manually and does not take open applications, so apply to a specific role. Artists are asked to lead with the one project they are proudest of.
Your background, the games you have shipped and why Supercell. Ask which tasks and rounds your role has.
Data and analyst candidates report a home assignment; artists report an art test; designers and programmers are questioned on shipped work. Supercell does not publish the length or whether it is paid.
Drill-downs into your assignment or your shipped features, plus behavioural questions. Engineers report questions on the features they built rather than algorithm puzzles.
Meeting several teams, and for some roles a conversation with leadership. Expect the decision to take time: Supercell says roles stay open until the right person is found.
