Capgemini interview and assessment, for freshers.
Updated · Sources at the end
Capgemini hires tens of thousands of people in India a year, and roughly 40% of them are freshers. Its own recruitment page lists the steps for graduates: an online aptitude test, a coding or technical assessment, a group discussion for some roles, a technical interview and an HR interview. What candidates and prep sites add is how much rides on the coding round. Reported offers in 2026 run from Analyst at ₹4.25 lakh a year if you solve neither coding problem, to ₹5.75 lakh for one, to Senior Analyst at ₹7.5 lakh for both. The aptitude section has also changed: candidates now describe short brain games instead of the old quantitative and logical questions.

Who Capgemini hires
Capgemini had about 2.3 lakh employees in India in early 2026, more than half its global workforce, and said it planned to hire 40,000 to 45,000 people in India in 2025, about 40% of them freshers. Fresher roles are mostly Analyst and Senior Analyst in software development, testing, data and cloud. Hiring runs on campus with partner colleges and off campus through drives on platforms candidates name as Superset or CoCubes. Experienced candidates take proctored technical and language assessments, then one or two technical interviews.
Capgemini's page describes two routes. This guide covers the fresher route in detail.
Track · Fresher
Freshers and graduates
Online aptitude test, coding or technical assessment, group discussion for select roles, technical interview, HR interview. Candidates report the online test split into sections, some of them eliminatory, and a separate communication round.
Track · Lateral
Experienced hires
An HR screen, then proctored online technical and language assessments where applicable, one or two technical interviews, an HR behavioural interview, documents, a compensation discussion, offer acceptance in the portal, and background verification. Capgemini says it usually takes a few weeks.
What is the Capgemini interview process?
The order below is Capgemini's own for graduates; the detail inside each step is from candidates and prep sites, and varies between campus and off-campus drives. The complaints candidates post are about the gates: sections that end your attempt early, a coding result that decides your pay, and older reports of long waits between a letter of intent and joining.
Campus hiring runs through partner colleges; off-campus drives are run on platforms candidates name as Superset or CoCubes. Check the eligibility in the drive notice before you register.
Capgemini's page calls it an aptitude test for logical reasoning, verbal ability and quantitative skills. In 2025 and 2026 candidates describe technical and pseudo-code questions, an English section, a game-based aptitude section and a behavioural questionnaire. A January 2026 candidate says the first section was eliminatory.
Capgemini calls it a coding or technical assessment of programming knowledge and problem-solving. Candidates report one easy and one medium problem, and that the number solved decides the offer: Analyst, Analyst with a higher package, or Senior Analyst.
Candidates describe a separate English communication assessment and call it eliminatory. It is often automated, so speak clearly and at a steady pace.
Capgemini says it tests communication, teamwork and analytical thinking. Make one clear point early, build on others, and summarise if nobody does.
Capgemini says the technical interview focuses on domain knowledge and practical application, and the HR interview on behaviour, career aspirations and fit. Candidates report Java or another language's basics, object-oriented programming, SQL and databases, and their final-year project.
Candidates say the letter of intent can take a few weeks to arrive. Earlier batches report long waits and pre-onboarding tests before joining; in 2023 Capgemini told 2022 recruits that a letter of intent was not an offer.
Capgemini online assessment: game-based test, pseudo-code and coding
Reported problems and how to solve themCapgemini's own page calls the first step an online aptitude test and the second a coding or technical assessment, without giving the format. Candidates and the test-prep site PrepInsta describe it in 2025 and 2026 as several timed sections, with some sections eliminatory and the coding result deciding the offer tier. Details vary between campus and off-campus drives, so read your invitation.
- Technical and pseudo-code questions (reported: about 40 questions in 40 to 50 minutes): Pseudo-code questions give a short program and ask for its output. Trace it with a small table of variable values, line by line; don't guess from the shape of the code. The technical questions cover programming basics, databases and cloud. A January 2026 candidate says this section was eliminatory.
- English (reported: about 30 questions in 30 minutes): Grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension. Read the question before the passage, so you know what to look for.
- Game-based aptitude (reported: 4 games from a pool of 24, about 6 minutes each): PrepInsta names games including Grid Challenge, Motion Challenge, Switch Challenge and Digit Challenge, testing memory, attention and quick reasoning. They replaced the older quantitative and logical sections. Play a few practice versions so the format isn't new, then take it rested; accuracy and speed both count.
- Behavioural questionnaire (reported; varies by drive): Answer honestly and consistently about how you prefer to work. Trying to guess the ideal answer tends to produce contradictions.
- Coding (reported: 2 problems in about 45 minutes): Candidates report one easy and one medium problem. Solve the easy one first and make sure it passes, because the number of problems solved is reported to set the offer: Analyst at about ₹4.25 lakh with none, about ₹5.75 lakh with one, Senior Analyst at about ₹7.5 lakh with both.
- Communication assessment (reported; separate round): Speaking, listening, reading and writing, often automated. Use a quiet room and a working microphone, and speak at a steady pace. Candidates call it eliminatory.
Older candidates describe an essay that had to be passed before the games opened; newer accounts don't mention it. If your invitation includes one, write a clear, correctly spelled answer to exactly the question asked.
The rest of the loop depends on your role. Pick it, or paste the posting, and Calibrd predicts the rounds and questions you are likely to get at Capgemini.

Capgemini's page says what each step tests. Across the steps, these are the things that decide a fresher's outcome.
- Speed and accuracy under a clock. The online sections are short and some end your attempt if you fall below the cutoff
- Coding you can finish. Solving one or two problems is reported to change the offer level, so finishing a correct solution matters more than an elegant one
- Clear English. A separate communication assessment tests speaking, listening, reading and writing
- Teamwork and analytical thinking. Capgemini names both as what the group discussion tests
- Practical knowledge of your own project and basics. The technical interview focuses on domain knowledge and practical application

This guide covers Capgemini's fresher technology hiring in India. Experienced hires follow the shorter lateral route described above. For management and leadership roles the loop is similar but the bar shifts to people, delivery and strategy, so pair it with the leadership interview prep hub. The bar for your exact role comes from the role-by-role guides, and the prep that actually transfers is spoken, so run a mock interview before the real one.
